Drivers and vehicles on the sand driving course.

After our Basic 4x4 course in January we immediately signed up for the 3 day sand driving course that John was doing in Mozambique later that year.

We were delighted to meet up with Tracey again in her jeep.  All the other participants were guys of course!.  Once again Kevin and I took it in turns to tackle the obstacles.

We had a great time learning how to drive up, down and across sand hills and learnt a lot, which we have been able to put to good use on our travels  . As before John was unfailingly patient with us and constantly reassuring. We did all the driving at a large 'sand-pit' near the road between the border and our campsite at Ponta Malongane.

After some relatively easy hills on the first day we then moved onto much more challenging ones which sometimes needed some recovery techniques.    The last hill that we tried was steep with deep sand, none of us made it to the top although   Tracey with her powerful jeep nearly made it.
