Mozambique and Kruger 2008.

We left for Mozambique on Wednesday July 23rd and were away for 4 1/2 weeks.. Our first night was camping at Mkhuze Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal and then on Thursday we drove up to Kosi Bay and the border post with Mozambique. We took 3 weeks making our way up the coast to Vilanculos before heading East towards the Kruger National Park in South Africa. We had a fabulous time and were, throughout our trip, treated well, finding that nearly everywhere people spoke good English and were keen that tourists enjoyed their time in Moz. Many of the coastal towns are in the process of improving facilities and hotels and rest camps are being built. The only problem that we came across were the overfilled buses and taxis used by locals and backpackers - we had several nightmare tales from backpackers that we met. We will definitely return to Mozambique in the future.

Diary. This is a detailed account of our trip - it's a Word document and (you have been warned!) runs to 20 pages.

The map shows our route in orange with the places that we stayed at marked in red.
