1. Monday.
Within a short time of entering the Park from the Main Camp we saw several elephants. All the elephants that we encountered seemed relaxed and very used to vehicles.
This young male seemed to be enjoying the company of an older male.
Always good to see plenty of youngsters.
Nice to see a relaxed black-backed jackal. It was trotting along the road and then stopped to have a look at us before heading off into the bush.
A pair of scrub hares at the side of the road.
We stopped to watch a small group of elephants in the nearby bush. They then came onto the track, passed close by the bakkie and then crossed over the track right in front of us.
A female kudu.
LBJ! (Little Brown Job - ie difficult to identify!)
Back at the campsite I walked along to the bird hide which overlooks a pond.
Baby coot being fed by mum.
There were several red bishops amongst the reeds.
It was a hot day so we drove out to a couple of waterholes in the hope that we'd see some elephants in the water. We did see several groups near the waterholes but only 1 in the water. He was on his own and had a lovely time splashing around. Once again we saw plenty of youngsters.
There was a group of zebra near one of the waterholes. A couple of them were having a bit of a dispute!
