5. Storms River (Garden Route National Park).
Rather than driving straight back to Reebok from Addo we stopped overnight at Storm's River Mouth Rest Camp which is in the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park. On the way there we stopped for a picnic lunch at Jeffrey's Bay.
The tide was out and there was a wide expanse of beach so after our lunch we went for a walk.
We stayed in a large chalet with a lovely view of the ocean. I was up early the next morning to catch the sunrise.
There are lots of walks that can be done in this area. We did the Storm's River Mouth Trail which follows a winding board walk through indigenous forest to the mouth of the Storms River and the famous suspension bridge - actually there are 3 suspension bridges.
From the centre of the main bridge looking north up the river gorge and south out to sea.
We walked across the main bridge but decided not to go any further, so crossed back and then took the top path back to camp.
On our way home we stopped at the East Heads cafe for lunch, had a walk to The Heads lower viewpoint and then to the view over the lagoon.
