This park is in the SE of Zimbabwe and borders the Kruger National Park in South Africa although there's no border crossing between the parks. We had a couple of nights at Chilojo Cliffs campsite and 2 more nights at Chipinda Pools. This is the classic Gonarezhou photo of the Chilojo Cliffs at sunset. Considering that we visited the Park in May we were surprised how dry it was. There wasn't much water in the river and there was no green grass at all even near the river. We saw elephants from our campsite every day. The only predator that we saw was this jackal. There were plenty of birds about at both campsites. White-fronted bee-eater at Chilojo. I watched a family of 3 goldentailed woodpeckers for ages at Chipinda Pools. We had to cross the river to drive up to the viewpoint... ... which had great views across the Park. Many of the mopane trees were already turning and loosing their leaves. There were always hippos to be heard at Chipinda Pools. These guys were repairing the river crossing near Chipinda Pools. The road bridge across the Save River was destroyed by floods several years ago. 2. Zim 4x4 trip. Mana Pools, Chewore, Mkanga and Mavuradonha. 3.
