Richmond to Kruger via Imfolozi and Eswatini (Swaziland). June / July 2022.

 1.  Hluhluwe / Imfolozi Game Reserve via Umlalazi.

Umlalazi Nature Reserve

We had a few nights at Umlalazi, one of our favourite campsites, on our way to Hluhluwe/Imfolozi.  Zebra, duikers and bushbuck are often around the campsite when it's not busy.

We enjoyed a walk along the nearby beach and back through the dunes.

A vervet monkey enjoying some flowers.

A red duiker at the campsite.

A very chilled zebra at the campsite.

A lone pelican on the lagoon.

Hluhluwe / Imfolozi Game Reserve.

Nyalazi campsite is a short distance from the Nyalazi entrance gate so very convenient for visiting both Hluhluwe and Imfolozi.  We had a nice site with views over the Hluhluwe hills and saw impala, kudu and zebra in the distance while we were at the site.

Our campsite with the fireplace in front.

We cooked our meals on this open fire just infront of the van.

We had 2 morning drives through Imfolozi and Hluhluwe.  Animal sightings were infrequent but we saw rhino on several occassions as well as zebra, impala, warthog and buffalo.

A pair of rhino.
